What are these black marks on exhaust.?

What are these black little marks on my exhaust? Is it caused by heat or is it rust. Anyone had experience with something like this, usually polishing it gets em out but is there any solutions to stop this from happening or less frequently. Thanks

    There's a sealer for polished steel but l'm not sure how it holds up to heat. Its supposed to fill in all those voids and keep air from getting into it and causing the rust.

If you are struggeling to remove stains/water marks etc with just wd-40 on titanium exhaust.
Try some autosol metal polish and wipe it off/light buffing. Then go over with wd-40....
