The French Jerem Motorcycles, led by the whimsical Jeremie Duchampt, has recently produced a convincing reinterpretation in key “Street Fighter” of the Yamaha XV1000 Virago, historic cruiser V-twin by Iwata which lately is becoming quite popular with customizer of all latitudes.

Once a XV1000 of the 1983 in conditions deemed decent, Monsieur Duchampt however proceeded to dismember it completely to give life to his own “vision”, a process that, at the end of the fair, cost him well 400 ore of work.

The engine Yamaha, first of all, was completely redone and fine-tuned with the help of Thorn Bikes specialists, an operation which also included the meticulous reconstruction of the carburetors and the addition of an air filter originally intended for a Harley-Davidson. The fascinating exhaust system 2-in-1, made in collaboration with SBP Welding, leads to an intriguing short terminal made internally.

Frame e swingarm They were immediately sandblasted and repainted in black, with the latter fitted with new bearings and paired with a rim explanted from a Suzuki SV with disc brake (in place of the old stock drum) and a Sachs mono taken from an MV Agusta.

The rear is completed by a frame brand new, which incorporates an LED strip that acts as a rear light assembly and is topped with a stunning two-tone red quilted saddle made by a local specialist.

L’front end, inevitably, it could not be outdone: the inverted fork was “Donated” from a Kawasaki ZX-6R and combined with a pair of semi-handlebars while the front brake has been upgraded with calipers Tokico and Brembo pump. The top yoke has also been slightly modified to accommodate the discreet Koso digital instrumentation and is “Preceded” from a rather conventional circular headlight, albeit with a central LED element.

Even the tank original was abandoned in favor of a unit taken from the “Joint” XV750, however modified to fit the project and amiably painted in red with metallic flakes. Completely redone also theelectrical system, with a new wiring, a new lithium-ion battery and a m-unit of Motogadget hidden under the tank itself.

The picture is completed by the new rear footpegs – which help to determine the aggressive ergonomics of the bike – and a pair of Metzeler Marathon dinghies decorated with side writings that are anything but discreet.
