After being formally trained in industrial design and then working for a slew of high-profile companies including Nike, TAG Heuer, LG, Honda, and Ford, Hugo Eccles has applied his formal training to penning ultra-clean custom bikes under the banner of Untitled Motorcycles. Alongside his ability to deliver bespoke machines with a factory-level finish, Eccles’ industrial design background has also resulted in him designing and engineering his customs so that they lend themselves to small-batch production. Such is the case with the British-born designer’s Zero SR/F-based UMC-063 XP Zero Experimental build which, four years after its debut, is now available on a limited production built-to-order basis.

Winner of 17 international design awards, UMC-063 was developed in technical partnership with Zero Motorcycles and unequivocally represents one of the most talked about and widely publicized EV customs ever built. Constructed around a tubular steel spaceframe, the heavily-modified electric motorcycle features an enormous slew of custom bodywork and components including CNC-machined aerospace-grade 6061 aluminum fork brackets, belly-pan, nose and intake, custom-designed and machined polymer panels with polycarbonate edges, and an ultra-waspish tail section that’s capped off with a hydrophobic-treated Ultrasuede seat with a custom UMC tag and a bespoke LED taillight. At the heart of the XP Zero is a machined aerospace-grade aluminum core that accommodates the bike’s batteries, charger, controller, and motor — the latter of which is good for 110hp and 146ft-lbs of torque, allowing for a 124-mph top speed and a 0-60mph time of 3.7 seconds.

Equipped with a primary display supplemented via a secondary TFT screen, the Zero is now helmed via a custom set of clip-on bars with integrated cabling and bespoke thumb joystick controls and a pair of custom-machined 6061 foot controls with aluminum footrest brackets and polymer heel guards. Weighing 481lbs, the XP Zero also comes loaded with a Motogadget m-Lock keyless RFID ignition that’s activated via a custom anodized aluminum RFID key fob. Other noteworthy elements include 43mm Showa self-balancing forks, a Showa GK01 monoshock, Motobox custom LED lighting throughout, front winglets with integrated headlight housings, one-off fork covers, a futuristic front fender with integrated LED lighting, and 17” cast alloy wheels. And, while the original UMC-063 specimen wears a coat of Aerospace Material Specification AMS-36375 ‘Ghost Grey’ experimental aircraft paint, Untitled Motorcycles is offering the SR/F-based custom with a slew of configurable options, including numerous paint and finish choices.
