The Honda Monkey, a retro-style mini-bike with a playful character, has amassed a cult following over the past half-century. While it may be considered a toy by many, the Monkey serves various purposes in the motorcycling world. It can be seen in the collections of retro bike enthusiasts, the garages of casual riders, and the workshops of custom bike builders. One such custom Monkey, built by motorcycle accessory maker K-Speed, has recently caught our attention.

K-Speed has transformed the Monkey into a unique blend of bobber, chopper, and tracker aesthetics. The team put in countless hours to redesign the bike's frame to accommodate the modifications. The custom Monkey features a slack head angle, giving it a chopper-like appearance. This was achieved by chopping off the head tube and repositioning it to provide the desired angle. The swingarm was reworked and extended to elongate the wheelbase, while the side stand was moved to the left side of the swingarm for a cleaner look

To add to the bike's bobber vibe, K-Speed installed a high-rise handlebar and a cropped tail loop, creating a bespoke leather saddle in a striking red hue. The bike's all-black motif is complemented by massive knobby tires, adding a touch of tracker style. The custom high-up exhaust system, complete with a heat shield, rounds out the unique modifications.

K-Speed has an impressive portfolio of custom creations, including the muscular Gorilla Monkey. Check out their official website and Instagram page for more funky and wild custom builds. The Honda Monkey may be a niche motorcycle, but with customizations like these, it's hard not to take notice.
