According to a report by Motorcycle.com, recent California Air Resources Board (CARB) filings have indicated that Kawasaki might launch a new model in the Eliminator series, an Eliminator 450, in North America in 2024. The CARB filings revealed that Kawasaki has filed four model codes- EL450A, EL450B, EL450C, and EL450D- which suggest that there could be a base model Eliminator 450 and an Eliminator 450 SE, as well as ABS-equipped trims. The filings also confirmed that the Eliminator 450 would be powered by a 451cc engine, although it is unclear how Kawasaki's engineers achieved the extra volume. It is possible that they used the 398cc parallel twin as a basis for the new engine.
Kawasaki's parallel twin already has a power advantage over its main competitor, the Honda Rebel 500. However, the Rebel 500's 471cc engine outperforms the Eliminator's 398cc engine with 43Nm of torque @ 6,000 rpm. With the new 451cc powerplant, Kawasaki may be able to address this torque shortfall. Nevertheless, an official announcement from the company is required to confirm the existence of the 2024 Eliminator 450.
