Gasoline Motor Co. has created a remarkable adventure bike, the KTM 1290 Super Adventure R Monster Enduro, that offers excellent performance and design. During the COVID-19 pandemic lockdown, Jason Leppa, the builder of this project, wanted to create a machine that could take him to the remotest areas in Australia without any difficulty. The KTM 1290 SAR, with its advanced technology and performance, proved to be the best fit for the team's requirements.
The KTM's LC8 V-twin engine with 160 hp and 101.8 ft-lbs of torque, fully adjustable WP suspension, Brembo brakes, and Akront wheels were retained for their efficiency. However, the bike's appearance was completely transformed. The Gasoline team stripped the bike to its bare bones and fabricated a new chrome alloy subframe that matched the latticework of the main frame. The carbon fiber fuel tank and various bits of the bike have a similar pattern to give it an industrial feel.
The custom seat was created from a fiberglass base and covered with carbon fiber patterned material, while the headlamp cowl and front fender were borrowed from KTM EXC models. The team engineered a custom airbox with a DNA air filter to house the SC-Project exhaust and installed Shinko knobbies. In addition to the bike's lighting, LED spotlights mounted on the hand-built crash bars provide extra lighting.
The Monster's skid plate, which is an original KTM equipment, fits perfectly. The custom exhaust pipe, tipped in a weight-shaving SC-Project exhaust canister, and the bike's skeletal underpinnings give it the appearance of a complete animal. The bike's graphics have a black gloss and carbon fiber theme, with a few orange highlights to remind riders of its original form.
Gasoline Motor Co. doesn't replicate its custom bikes, but Jason is willing to build a buyer something similar to the KTM 1290 Super Adventure R Monster Enduro. If you want to experience this stunning machine's power and capabilities, it's worth inquiring about.
