Kawasaki, the renowned Japanese motorcycle manufacturer, takes great pride in its impressive range of motorcycles, with the Ninja family being one of its most iconic lineups. Since its inception in the 1980s, the Ninja series has garnered immense admiration from riders worldwide. To keep the interest in Ninjas soaring, Kawasaki consistently introduces upgrades, no matter how subtle they may be. This week, the company made an exciting announcement regarding the upcoming model year.
As of now, the North American market boasts an extensive selection of Ninja motorcycles, featuring ten distinct subfamilies with various models to choose from. At one end, we have the entry-level Ninja 400, while at the other end, we find the powerful H2 SX, with plenty of thrilling options in between.
Kawasaki's recent announcement primarily focuses on the Ninja 650, a middleweight sport bike designed to provide riders with an exhilarating Japanese riding experience. The bike will indeed be available for the new model year, although the changes are not as extensive as those seen in the 2023 version.
In the previous year, the Ninja 650 received the advanced Kawasaki TRaction Control (KTRC) system, offering riders the choice of three different riding modes: one for sport riding, another for wet or challenging road conditions, and a third mode that allows full control to the rider. This system will continue to be offered in the 2024 model, with the primary differentiating factor being the new color schemes.
For 2024, the Ninja 650 showcases a fresh Metallic Matte Graphenesteel Gray and Ebony, available at a starting price of $8,299. The ABS version, also known as the 650 KRT, begins at $8,899. Both the new and previous models are already listed on Kawasaki's website, enabling customers to place their orders for the latest variants.
Underneath its sleek exterior, the Ninja 650 relies on a robust 649cc parallel-twin engine to deliver its thrilling performance. The bike retains its recognizable design, featuring body elements spread across the frame, twin LED headlights with low and high beams, and a commanding stance.
In terms of technology, the Ninja is equipped with a 4.3-inch TFT screen that provides essential information about the bike's performance to the rider. Additionally, riders can connect their smartphones to the bike via the Rideology The App, enhancing their overall experience.
As for the remaining members of the Ninja lineup, Kawasaki has yet to reveal any potential upgrades for the new model year. Motorcycle enthusiasts eagerly await news regarding the Ninja 400, 1000SX, ZX-4RR, ZX-14R, and H2. There is much to anticipate from Kawasaki, making the future of the Ninja family even more exciting.
