Jochen Zeitz, the Chairman, President, and CEO of Harley-Davidson, couldn't contain his enthusiasm for the upcoming models, stating, "The all-new CVO Street Glide and CVO Road Glide models aim to elevate every aspect of the Grand American Touring motorcycle experience. These models establish a new standard for Harley-Davidson's performance, technology, and style, propelling the evolution of the world's most coveted motorcycle brand."
The striking designs of the new CVO Street Glide and CVO Road Glide models have evolved from the timeless shapes of previous Grand American Touring motorcycles. Integrated venting and LED signature lighting with integrated turn signals seamlessly blend into the fairings of both models.
Standout design elements include a trimmed front fender, a uniquely beveled 6-gallon fuel tank, and saddlebags that perfectly complement the fairings and fuel tank with their three-dimensional contours. Making a bold custom statement, the new Combo Cast Laced wheels feature a black machine-cut cast-aluminum rim and laced spokes. Each model will be available in two meticulously detailed finish options.
Setting a new benchmark for torque and displacement in a factory-installed Harley-Davidson Touring motorcycle, the new 121-cubic inch V-Twin Milwaukee-Eight VVT 121 engine delivers exceptional performance. It boasts optimized liquid-cooled cylinder heads with an advanced cooling system, variable valve timing, a redesigned intake tract, and a performance exhaust system. The development of the CVO Street Glide and CVO Road Glide models took every aspect into consideration to enhance overall performance and comfort.
Compared to their predecessors, these models have shed significant weight, with the CVO Street Glide model reduced by 31 pounds and the CVO Road Glide model reduced by 35 pounds. High-performance front and rear SHOWA suspension components provide confident handling and significantly improve rider comfort compared to previous CVO models, with rear suspension travel increased by 50 percent. Premium Brembo braking components ensure exceptional braking feel and performance, boosting rider confidence.
One notable feature of the CVO Street Glide and CVO Road Glide models is the introduction of selectable Ride Modes – Road, Sport, and Rain – which electronically control power delivery, engine braking, Cornering-Antilock Braking System (C-ABS), and Cornering-Traction Control System (C-TCS) settings.
Aerodynamic and thermal comfort take precedence with the all-new fairings boasting a "floating" windshield design and adjustable air-control vanes. These improvements resulted in a 60 percent reduction in subjective helmet buffeting during wind tunnel testing compared to equivalent 2022 models. The new engine cooling system further enhances thermal comfort for riders compared to previous CVO models.
Embracing cutting-edge technology, the CVO Street Glide and CVO Road Glide models introduce a state-of-the-art suite of infotainment technology powered by the Skyline OS. An impressive customizable 12.3-inch TFT color touch screen replaces analog instrumentation and most switches, offering three distinct view options and compatibility with Apple and Android devices.
Seamless wireless connectivity through Wi-Fi allows riders to connect their devices effortlessly, while a built-in Bluetooth receiver enables wireless headset use. These models also feature expanded media storage compartments with a USB-C connection point. Elevating the overall riding experience, a premium Harley-Davidson Audio powered by Rockford Fosgate Stage II four-speaker audio system, equipped with a new 500-watt RMS amplifier, takes center stage.
The CVO Street Glide and CVO Road Glide models will make their public debut in the United States during the Harley-Davidson Homecoming Festival in Milwaukee from July 13-16, 2023. Authorized Harley-Davidson dealer showrooms worldwide will have both models available starting in mid-July, allowing riders to experience the pinnacle of Grand American Touring motorcycles.
