As Buell Motorcycles celebrates its remarkable 40th anniversary, they unveil an impressive lineup of five distinct models, including the Hammerhead 1190, 1190SX, Super Cruiser, Supertouring, and Baja Dune Racer.
Among these models, the Hammerhead holds special significance and has been chosen as the base for a commemorative edition, aptly named the Freedom Edition Hammerhead 1190. This exceptional motorcycle pays tribute to both the company's milestone and the cherished ideals of American freedom.
The distinguishing feature of the Freedom Edition lies in its captivating paint scheme. While the standard Hammerhead 1190 boasts a range of color options, the Freedom Edition takes patriotic flair to the next level. Adorned with the iconic red, white, and blue of the American flag, along with the stars that embellish it, this special edition showcases a masterful application of these elements on its carbon fiber bodywork.
Beneath its patriotic aesthetics, the Freedom Edition shares the same powerful specifications as the Hammerhead 1190. It is equipped with a liquid-cooled V-Twin engine with a displacement of 72.6ci (1,190cc), delivering an impressive 185 hp at 10,600 rpm and nearly 138 Nm of torque at 8,200 rpm.
The motorcycle features an aluminum frame with an integrated fuel tank and benefits from Showa suspension components, including an inverted fork at the front and a single shock at the rear.
While the base Hammerhead 1190 starts at $19,995, with fully loaded configurations reaching up to $25,995, the Freedom Edition carries a slightly higher price tag.
Enthusiasts can acquire the 2023 Buell Freedom Edition Hammerhead 1190 starting from $24,990. However, with additional enhancements and customizations, the price can rise to a minimum of $26,775.
Buell plans to release the new iteration of the Hammerhead on July 1, just before the United States celebrates Independence Day. Although the exact production quantity remains undisclosed, the first 40 units will come with a special four-year warranty and the underside of each bike will be personally signed by the Buell factory team.
