BMW, the renowned German motorcycle manufacturer, is quietly marking an important moment in its history without much fanfare. Aside from the highly anticipated launch of the new R 1300 GS and the upcoming opening of the BMW Motorrad Welt museum in September, the company has announced updates for some of its most significant models for the 2024 model year.

Notably, the American market will receive exciting new features and hardware, with the focus centered on the Intelligent Emergency Call (ECALL) system. ECALL automatically contacts a BMW center if the bike detects an accident, and riders can also activate it manually by pressing an SOS button on the handlebar.

While not all BMW bikes in the U.S. will include this feature, it will be available on coveted models such as the F 900 R and XR, K1600, R 1250, R 18 B and R 18 Transcontinental, S 1000 R and RR, and the CE 04 scooter.

In terms of visual updates, some models, primarily sold outside North America, will receive refreshed color options, while no technical or mechanical modifications are reported for the 2024 models across the BMW Motorrad lineup.
