Honda Racing recently organized an exclusive handover event at their headquarters in Louth for the lucky customers who purchased one of the 30 John McGuinness 100th TT Start Replica Fireblades last year.
Enthusiastic owners from across the UK gathered at the Lincolnshire venue, where they enjoyed a behind-the-scenes tour of the facility. The highlight of the day was the opportunity to meet and chat with John McGuinness himself, the legendary 23-time TT winner. McGuinness graciously took selfies, signed each bike, and shared stories about the inspiration behind the limited-edition replica.
Neil Fletcher, Head of Motorcycles at Honda, expressed his satisfaction with the customers who acquired the bikes, stating, "We always hoped that the bikes would go to people who would genuinely cherish them, or had a connection to the TT, or just had a passion for the Fireblade, and it seems that's exactly what we've got."
The John McGuinness 100th Start replica CBR1000RR-R Fireblade SPs were unveiled on November 16, 2022, with only 30 units produced at a price of £30,000 each. These bikes pay tribute to McGuinness' special livery used for his 100th TT start in the 2022 six-lap Superbike race, where he achieved an impressive fifth-place finish.
Apart from the striking gold accents, the design showcases images of every Honda bike McGuinness has raced throughout his career, along with his famous voodoo doll design on the rear cowling. Each bike also features an individually numbered plaque on the headstock, a special Fireblade garage mat, a 3D laser-engraved crystal displaying a bike design, and more.
John McGuinness plans to add the original race bike to his personal collection and intends to showcase it at events and occasionally ride it for demonstrations.
The event at Honda Racing headquarters brought together passionate owners like Hank Watson from Holbeach, who already boasts an impressive collection of 44 bikes. Watson, a devoted TT fan, shared his excitement, stating, "I will ride it because I need to know what it's like. It's coming to the Isle of Man with me next year – it might even be the only one there!"
The handover event left attendees emotional and speechless, as they felt privileged to be part of this unique experience. For them, it was a truly extraordinary day that will always hold a special place in their hearts.
