Kawasaki is set to showcase its electric motorcycles, the Ninja EV and Z EV, at the JAIA Imported Electric Vehicles Promotion Event in Kobe. These two models, which were previously demonstrated at the 2022 Suzuka 8 Hours and officially announced at the Milano Show, are being considered for sale in Japan, and their launch is eagerly anticipated.
The event in Kobe aims to promote electric mobility and will feature a wide range of imported electric vehicles from various manufacturers. Kawasaki Motors Japan, as a regional partner company, will display the EV Ninja and EV Z, which were unveiled at the 2022 Milano Show. The event will also include other importers of both two-wheeled and four-wheeled vehicles, as well as companies in the recharging and recycling industry.
Although Kawasaki refers to the exhibited models as EV motorcycles (prototypes), they are the same as the Ninja EV/Z EV that are being exported overseas. These models are designed to meet the specifications of the European A1 license category, with an engine power of 125 cc and 15 PS or less.
It's worth noting that in Japan, electric bikes are classified based on their rated output, which may not directly correspond to a specific license category. While it remains unclear whether any new information will be revealed at the Kobe exhibition, it is hoped that the event will contribute to the progress of launching these electric motorcycles in Japan.
