Kawasaki Motors has officially unveiled the highly-anticipated 2024 model year of their beloved sport naked, the Z650. While this latest iteration maintains its impressive performance and design, the most notable transformation comes in the form of a striking new red color scheme. As a result, the previously offered black option has been retired from the lineup.
Mark your calendars for the grand release of this vibrant addition on Friday, September 22, 2023.
The current Z650, originally introduced in 2017, boasts a robust 649cc liquid-cooled, parallel twin-cylinder engine, akin to its counterpart, the Ninja 650. With an output of 68 PS (50 kW) at 8,000 rpm and a lightweight, compact chassis, it offers an easily manageable ride for novice motorcyclists transitioning to larger bikes. The upright handlebar configuration ensures exceptional control.
A significant transformation took place in 2020 when the Z series underwent a design overhaul, adopting even sharper angles for a more aggressive look. LED headlights, TFT color LCD meters, and ETC2.0 onboard equipment became standard features. The 2023 model was further enhanced with a new traction control system, greatly elevating its overall performance. Notably, despite distinctive styling differences, the Ninja 650 shares identical core specifications, including engine power, tire size, wheelbase, and caster angle with its Z650 sibling.
In the 2024 model, equipment and specifications remain consistent with the previous edition, with the sole update being the fresh color scheme and graphics. Prepare to be mesmerized by the Candy Persimmon Red x Ebony combination, which extends its allure to the frame and wheels. The Z Series proudly expands its red lineup, with red graphics now adorning nearly all Z family members, including the 2024 Z H2, 2023 Z900, and 2024 Z400. Meanwhile, the previous Steel Gray x Ebony lineup has been retired to make way for this exciting new era of Z650 aesthetics.
