The 2023 MotoGP season has been a thrilling spectacle, offering fans an abundance of excitement and racing action. The latest round, hosted at the renowned Misano circuit, attracted a global audience of passionate enthusiasts.
In an astounding turnout, a total of 141,056 MotoGP devotees converged at Misano's grandstands, eclipsing the attendance record set at Mugello on June 11, 2023, when Autodromo Internazionale del Mugello hosted a staggering 135,670 spectators to witness Pecco Bagnaia's Ducati victory. The Misano event, which concluded on Sunday, September 10, 2023, saw 141,056 fans attend over three days, with 21,688 on Friday, 39,944 on Saturday, and 79,424 on Sunday, as reported by Moto.It.
The organizers hailed the 2023 MotoGP Misano round as a testament to the sport's "extraordinary vitality." Misano and other Italian circuits have solidified their positions in the world of motorsports, with Italy itself being recognized as one of the most fervent racing nations globally. The success of the Italian MotoGP events has boosted tourism in the region, drawing racing enthusiasts and spectators from around the world who book accommodations in Italy to partake in the excitement.
Beyond the on-track action, the Misano World Circuit, in collaboration with Red Bull and Cocoricò, hosted a special event for the Riccione Club on Marco Simoncelli's premises, called "Memorabilia," drawing over 20,000 attendees.
Prior to the races, the Italian Navy showcased its prowess with flyovers by F-35B and AV-8B Harrier aircraft over the circuit. The spectacle was followed by a rock rendition of the Italian National Anthem, performed by Giulio Maceroni and Alberta Saccani.
The weekend concluded with Jorge Martin claiming victory for Pramac Ducati, closely followed 1.3 seconds behind by Marco Bezzecchi, also representing Ducati. In the third position, Pecco Bagnaia delivered a remarkable performance despite a significant accident the previous week. Overall, it was a triumphant one-two-three finish for Ducati, on home turf, at one of the most iconic racing circuits.
