The Harley-Davidson Sportster holds a venerable place in the company's history, with origins dating back to 1957 in Milwaukee. However, its prominence in the world of custom motorcycles often takes a backseat to models like the Softail. Today, we turn our attention to a unique black and white custom variant hailing from Germany—the Forty-Eight.

Introduced in 2010 as part of the Sportster lineup (XL1200X), the Forty-Eight was initially designed for riders seeking a dark, classically styled motorcycle. This intention is evident in its name, paying homage to 1948 when the iconic peanut-style fuel tank made its debut.

Despite its classic aesthetics, many Forty-Eight owners felt the urge to personalize their rides further. In pursuit of an even more robust appearance, one particular owner entrusted the skilled hands of No Limit Custom (NLC) in Germany to transform their bike.

NLC's first alteration involved a striking modification to the fuel tank. A white cover was seamlessly added, dramatically altering the tank's appearance. This enhancement required no complex installation procedures, as it simply rested atop the existing hardware.

Additionally, the fenders, two prominent body components, received a substantial makeover. They were replaced with larger fiberglass counterparts, left unpainted for a raw, industrial look. The rear fender, in particular, is a visual delight.

Various covers were skillfully integrated where needed, and a front spoiler was added to the engine for both protection and an aggressive aesthetic. At the rear, the license plate holder was repositioned to the side, aligning with the European custom Harley trend.

While the engine likely remained in its stock form, a custom exhaust system of undisclosed origin was incorporated. The exhaust pipes now jut downward, creating the illusion that the bike is ready to take off, perhaps even shooting flames from its nozzles.

No Limit Custom has kept the pricing details for many of the custom components used in the transformation of the Harley-Davidson Forty-Eight White undisclosed. Consequently, it's challenging to estimate the total cost of this custom build. For reference, unmodified bikes of this type can be found for as low as $6,000, depending on the year and condition.
