A Redesigned Look with Anodized Aluminum Accents

The latest Vario luggage system for the BMW R 1300 GS boasts a complete visual overhaul. Anodized aluminum trims adorning the cases' exteriors and the top case's lid not only enhance durability but also seamlessly integrate with the bike's aesthetics. The black plastic housing harmonizes with the overall appeal of the R 1300 GS.

Electrifying Convenience

A standout feature of the Vario luggage system is its electrified capabilities. Riders can now charge their electronic devices, such as smartphones, tablets, or laptops, within the left Vario case's luggage compartment, courtesy of the built-in USB-A charging port. This port is seamlessly integrated into the onboard network and delivers a charging power of up to 15W (5V/3A). Moreover, a conveniently located USB-A port is present in the top case. Integrated lighting in both the Vario cases and the top case ensures effortless loading and unloading, even in low-light conditions.

Seamless Integration with Radio Central Locking System

The Vario luggage system seamlessly harmonizes with the standard radio central locking system of the new BMW R 1300 GS, elevating user-friendliness. In cases of concern about losing the radio key, mechanical keys are also provided for manual case operation.

Tailored Storage Flexibility

Riders can now infinitely adjust the volume of the Vario cases and Vario top case via a handwheel, allowing them to customize their storage space to precise needs. In total, the Vario luggage system offers a generous 97 liters of capacity. The volume of the Vario cases can expand from approximately 49L by up to 5.5L each, while the top case's storage volume can increase from 28 to a maximum of 36L.

Expanded Load Capacity

Practical additional storage options are facilitated by the Vario luggage system. Lashing eyes on the sides of the Vario cases and the top case enable riders to secure extra cargo, with up to 1 kg on each side of the Vario cases and 2 kg on the Vario top case. Tension straps are recommended for securing additional cargo, and lashing eyes on the top case's lid provide extra options for securing luggage.

Inner Bags for Enhanced Organization

Within the BMW Motorrad accessories range, riders have the option to select from various Vario inner bags designed for both the Vario cases and the Vario top case. These inner bags deliver efficient and organized storage for personal belongings, elevating the convenience of the journey. The volumes of these inner bags are customizable to cater to individual preferences.

Performance and Compatibility

It is vital to note that the maximum permissible speed when riding with the Vario luggage system is 180 km/h. This innovative luggage system is exclusively designed for the new BMW R 1300 GS and is not suitable for previous models, such as the BMW R 1250 GS.
