The latest iteration of the urban scooter, the 2023 Lambretta V-Special 200, has made its debut in Australia, boasting a refreshed color palette. After its reintroduction to the Australian market in 2018, Lambretta's range has seen various transformations. Notably, the smaller capacity V50 and V125 V-Special models have been discontinued, while the G350 and X300 models were introduced last year. Presently, Lambretta Australia is exclusively launching the V-Special 200.
In terms of design, the 2023 V-Special 200 maintains the same signature Lambretta styling that's been offered in the past. Elements like the headlight shape, fixed front mudguard, flat seat, and other design characteristics remain unchanged. However, there's a significant cosmetic alteration in 2023, with Lambretta branding taking a more understated approach. Unlike recent years where bold decals adorned the engine covers, the 2023 model opts for a more minimalist look.
This scooter is available in four attractive colors: Matte Black, Matte Green, Yellow, and White. Both matte options come with black wheels and black trim for the headlight, legshield, air vents, fork legs, exhaust shield, switchblocks, levers, and mirrors. The yellow variant is quite similar but features chrome mirrors. The white version is the most eye-catching, equipped with chrome levers and bar ends, chrome mirrors, fork legs, and body trim. The white V-Special 200 also sports gunmetal grey wheels and a striking red seat.
Beyond its aesthetics, the 2023 V-Special 200 retains its familiar features, including a steel frame, tele fork front suspension, dual shock rear suspension, 12-inch wheels, a 169cc petrol engine, and a CVT transmission. The four-stroke single-cylinder engine produces 8.8kW at 8000rpm and 12.2Nm at 6500rpm, offering a top speed of 100km/h and an estimated fuel consumption of 2.9 liters per 100km.
For safety, the scooter is equipped with disc brakes in the front and rear, incorporating Bosch ABS. All lighting on the scooter is LED, and the instrument cluster combines an analogue speedometer with an LCD screen. Practical features include a luggage hook, a glovebox in the legshield with a USB socket, and underseat storage that can accommodate an open-face helmet.
The seat height is set at 800mm, and the fuel tank has a capacity of 6 liters. While the exact weight is not provided, it is expected to be around 130kg.
The 2023 V-Special 200 is now available at Lambretta Australia dealers, with a starting price of $5,790 plus on-road costs. For additional information, visit your nearest Lambretta dealer.
