When Roland Sands is handed a motorcycle and a creative challenge, the results are nothing short of astonishing. Presenting the 'Urban Assault,' a bespoke KTM 790 Adventure brought to life by the iconic Roland Sands Design.

While Roland Sands is a legendary name in the world of motorcycle customization, his latest creation, the 'Urban Assault,' shifts the spotlight onto a KTM 790 Adventure that has been reimagined as a street scrambler.

The KTM 790 Adventure, brimming with cutting-edge technology and performance, has undergone a remarkable transformation at the hands of the Roland Sands Design team. Starting its journey as a brand-new 2019 KTM 790 Adventure, generously provided by a friend of Roland Sands, the mission was to seamlessly blend the KTM's aggressive lines with a more timeless form.

The heart of this build appears to be the fuel tank, which posed some noteworthy challenges. In their own words:

"The fuel tank is a tale of adventure in itself. Looking back, we might have chosen a different path. Our Shop Manager/Head Fabricator dedicated considerable effort to adapt a Water Buffalo Suzuki GT 750 gas tank, originally from Travis Pastrana's 199 Triple 750 two-stroke Flat Track bike. Roland and Aaron were captivated by its appearance on the raw bike, igniting a journey filled with trials and tribulations. Nonetheless, Aaron's ingenuity eventually ensured a flawless fit for this vintage tank on a modern adventure bike, albeit sacrificing a few gallons of fuel capacity, all in pursuit of fulfilling the customer's vision."

The seat, sourced from a Husqvarna Vitpilen, embodies the desired retro aesthetics with its short and slender profile, harmonizing perfectly with the build and accentuating the sub-frame's shape.

A custom number plate/exhaust guard elevates the Akrapovic exhaust, while the opposite side features a supplementary fuel tank to compensate for the reduced capacity resulting from the new fuel tank.
