A nice little Spring Fling up the hill to Cook's Station for brunch. 90 miles RT starting from Amador City ending in Plymouth. Meet on Main Street by 9 AM near Small Town and the walkway to Pig Turd Alley. Come any time after 8 AM if you want to enjoy pre-brunch coffee and sweets before the ride.
One of the original old “stations” along the early Amador and Nevada Wagon Road, the original establishment at the site now known as Cook’s Station was an inn which opened as early as 1852 to serve travelers heading to Volcano. More of the history of this road and area is available at the link below.
We'll take back roads from Amador City to Sutter Creek, where we'll transition to Old 49, New 49, and then Butte Mountain Road. We'll pop onto Hwy 88 above Pine Grove and then enjoy the mountain curves all the way to brunch. Later we'll head down Omo Ranch Road toward Fairplay, head to Somerset, Tiger Lily, and eventually head back south on Hwy 49 from El Dorado.
