The Anticipation- Portimão Autodromo, Algarve, Portugal ??

Yesterday we found ourselves at the internationally approved SBK raceway and recently approved venue for the October 2020 Formular 1 appearance.

Portimão Autodromo is in the Algarve Portugal, and is an extremely technical track, with blind rises, an off camber very quick sweep, uphills and down hills. Not one for the feint hearted.

Yesterday we got to spend the day on her, testing ourselves and our machines in the sweltering 32 degree heat. My Yamaha R6, sporting a set of Pirelli Super Corsa BSB’s which did pretty well and never once gave up traction, thankfully. A few riders went down, but thank goodness no serious injuries other than one broken collarbone.

At the end of an exhilarating days riding in amongst mates. Packing up and loading the bikes, one can only say with a sigh of relief, I’m happy to be alive. This morning my body is telling my mind that, there are muscles I didn’t even know I had.

It was all worth it? Yes absolutely! The company was great and the track, almost impeccable.
I would recommend track days to all riders, as it’s something you need to do to find your bikes limit and your own limit. That way most will ride a lot more safely on road and have more of an advantage skill wise.

Next we have our eye on a track day at Monteblanc in Spain ??. Looking forward to that one. Ride safe guys and stay on two wheels.
