Moto helmet planters
a new life and not a bad centerpiece if I do say so....
to start old, beat up, size large helmet
8" black plastic planter something crazy like $3....
removing the pads most just snap out pretty easily

I happen to have two beat up helmets, both size large that seemed to fit the 8" planter pretty well
cutting time
I used a vibrating dremel tool and tried to cut just the plastic as smooth as possible
prying it open
I made sure to cut the foam at an angle to ensure a firm hold on the planter
trim
after multiple fittings of the planter I had to trim back the foam some more
the other one
I guess you could use a sheet rock knife but the vibrating tool is faster, this is high density foam, not your standard packaging foam

the rim of the planter sits over the helmets plastic surface, the planter gives a little as well to fit
