“A road less taken”...

A decidedly unusual road. It connects two mountain passes, at least one of which—in cycling terms—is legendary: the Mortirolo. It is worth reaching the upper Valtellina and climbing near Grosio just for the latter, but once you reach the top, the real wonder is this small road that, passing through Trivigno, emerges above Aprica after about thirty kilometers... It is not open or rather passable all year round due to snow, and being a “secondary” road, it is maintained during the warmer seasons.

The view is truly superb: it starts with the panoramas of the upper Valtellina straddling the orographic line that divides it from the Val Camonica, above which you emerge about halfway along the route...

The best time to go is from June to October (snow permitting)...

Have a good trip!
