Fixed up the old 18K
So the bike went to the shop and got fixed up quite quickly for not very much money at a recommended mechanic.
It was then ridden around by a friend to go for inspection in order that it be properly transferred to my name. After that it stayed parked for almost 6 months...
A nearby mechanic came to the house to help. The carburator was cleaned and the battery charged (it has a computer no-break battery in it) and it started, but had issues running on low..
I took the bike to another nearby mechanic who charged me an absurd amount to do the carburator and it seemed to improve.
So I took it to the original recommended mechanic and swapped the battery (which I believe was the original thing that stressed me out just before the accident) for a proper Li-Ion one, fixed a leaky front fork, vibrating oil radiator, choke line that was causing issues when the handlebars were fully turned, and the carburator (again! This was done at a third trip to the shop) and finally the bike feels like it is running properly.
Now it needs some resin touch-ups on the mud-guards and a paint job.
