Hoon 2.0

The conversion idea came in 2017 when the new MT09 came out. Love the new styled MT10 headlamp. Got intouched with the local distributor but they said no stock for the new LED projector headlamp. So I waited patiently, but still no news. Before a recent trip to Bangkok, i asked Bangkok Hod Rod Custom Show organiser Mr Bomb, to assist me to ask Yamaha Thailand, but still Yamaha Thailand does not have the complete headlamp assembly. But luck came when I spotted a fellow MT09 rider posted in a WhatsApp group photo he change his headlamp to a custom built projector lamp... without hesitation i contacted him. (Sham) He agreed to sell it to me! And the very next day we dealed and collected the headlamp. The headlamp was all plug n play except the wiring, the first gen headlamp was H4 bulb with 3 cable, 2nd gen came with 6 and 6 pin socket! so I went on installing it but without light for a week. Spend a week asking the local distributor for the 6 pin Female socket but they could only reply no stock and asked me to purchase the whole new gen harness which cost RM4,500! no way i gonna pay that just to get my head lamp working.

So i spend a whole morning looking high and low at Pasar Rd electrical shops.... but non of them can provide me the same 6 pin socket. i l almost gave up and got a RM4.50 6 pin socket male female but cheap looking set i still remain hesitant to cut my headlamp socket to accomodate the cheap 6 socket. While feeling dissapointed I left Pasar Road and head back but a hunch came to me to drop by a Scooter repair shop run by Tong. and he recomended to contact an auto socket specialists. So i rode all the way to Puchong and found the 6 pin socket set paid RM50 for Male/Female. all i needed was the female socket but what the heck! Next challenge was connecting the 3 cables to 6. Mat n Mani from Chia Motor PJ got it done for me! So Hoon 2.0 Project completed!
