Which motorcycle has the most torque?

When ask just about anyone which production motorcycle has the most torque, they'll most probably answer "the Triumph Rocket iii". But is it really?

If you ask Google, you'll find that the first answer available agrees with the common answer. But that answer is not entirely true...

There are in fact several production motorcycles that have more torque than the Triumph Rocket iii.

Meet the Verge TS which has 737 ft-lb / 1000 Nm of torque. It might just be the motorcycle with the most torque in production.

This is of course an electric motorcycle with a motor that's part of the rear wheel hub. You could purchase a Verge TS for £24,990.

And that's the only electric bike that can produce more torque than the Triumph Rocket iii, right?
WRONG!!!

There are four motorcycles that produce more torque than the Triumph Rocket iii and they're all electric (for some weird reason).

The top 5 motorcycles with the most torque:

1. Verge TS - 737 ft-lb
2. Fuell Flow - 553 ft-lb
3. Lightning Strike - 186 ft-lb
4. Lightning LS218 - 168 ft-lb
5. Triumph Rocket iii - 163 ft-lb

Even though the Triumph Rocket iii has the most torque of any gas production motorcycle, it doesn't come close to the Verge TS.

To give you an idea of how they compare, the Verge TS has more than four times the torque of the Rocket iii.

But torque isn't everything... we all know that.

It just comes as a surprise to many people who have always thought otherwise (partly because of some inaccurate info on Google).
