Bandit Project

Good Evening all.

I thought I'd start a thread so those who wish can follow the progress of my Suzuki Bandit 1200 MK2 Purchased in July 2020 with the R1 5PW Tailend already fitted and a few other extras. However, most of them will be removed and replaced. This is my first Bandit, however, I have only ever owned Suzuki's, part from in 2002, when I had an Aprilla 50 (I was 16).

My plans for the bike are extensive and have saved a fairly medium-sized budget to work with. Right now, I've started stripping her down, disposing of any unwanted parts, and ALL bolts. She is on her way to being ready for a powder coat of the frame and engine respray and detailing.

Ascetics already purchased and ready to install:
Renthal Bars
Rizoma Bar Grips
Oxford Led Blinkers & Relay
Custom MudGuard (From Carl Parry @ SCaR fIbErGlAsS CoMpOsItEs)
Custom Belly Pan (From Carl Parry @ SCaR fIbErGlAsS CoMpOsItEs)
Harley Davidson V-Rod Front Headlight
Koso Folding Mirrors (may replace these)
Smoked R1 5PW rear light with integrated indicators

Ascetics Planned:
Custom Tank
Full Respray
Rick's Headlight Cowl
Ricks Clock Housing
Custom frame infills

Mechanical work/parts in progress or ready to be installed:
New fork seals
Carbs ultrasonically cleaned, jets chemically cleaned and reassembled (Thomas Harrison-Wilkes)
K&N Filters
CNC Billet Levers
Front, Clutch and Rear Reservoirs (suggestions welcome)
SC Project Moto GP Slip-on (will be replaced)

Mechanical work planned:
Custom belly pan level custom exhaust system (GTH Mechanics and Custom Fabrications)
New single clock (open to suggestions), with custom work to ensure it is replaced on yokes
Clutch window
Most likely a new wiring loom (as this one is a nightmare to work with the number of bodges)
USD Folk replacement (potentially)
New rear shock
Rear Sets

I'm sure it will progress as time goes on with new ideas and inspiration comes.

Here are few pics of the bike before and during the current strip down stage.

Thanks for looking.
