Headed up by builder, craftsman, and visionary Daryl Villanueva, Bandit9 Motors is a world-renowned customs shop that delivers works that are just as much sci-fi-inspired sculptures and works of fine art as they are functional custom vehicles. And after previously completing its EVE project several years ago — a custom that’s since been displayed at numerous elite museums — the Saigon shop has now revealed an even more intricate follow-up with an all-new limited production model known as the Bandit9 EVE Odyssey.
Engineered to simplify and streamline traditional motorcycle architecture, the EVE Odyssey sees its subframe, seat, gas tank, steering setup, and complete headlight assembly all combined into a single monocoque item. Like the NASA spacecraft that inspired it, the EVE Odyssey boasts a unibody setup that’s made from aerospace-grade aluminum. In fact, the vast majority of the bike is comprised of bespoke aluminum components, including its custom-designed aluminum alloy box frame, as well as its bespoke aluminum rear-set foot controls, unique custom set of cast split-spoke three-arm wheels, and its pair of bespoke aluminum clip-on bars that have been paired with custom aluminum grips, levers, and switchgear.
Sporting Bandit9’s signature neo-retro-style sci-fi aesthetic, the EVE Odyssey also benefits from its own custom-developed suspension setup, with a wildly idiosyncratic telescopic fork design up front and a bespoke single-sided swing-arm mated to a mono-shock configuration out back. Powering the sci-fi-themed two-wheeler is a Honda-sourced air-cooled 125cc single-cylinder engine. Despite its small displacement, the eighth-liter mill allows the EVE Odyssey to achieve a top speed of 65mph — all while delivering 156 miles of range per gallon. Bandit9 has also treated the bike to a custom digital LED display, an ultra-angular grilled belly-pan item, custom LED indicators, and the buyer’s choice of either a leather (or neoprene) seat.
Scheduled to begin deliveries in Q3 of 2023, the Bandit9 EVE Odyssey is available for preorder now, with special early bird pricing currently set at $15,500 — a limited-time $5,000 discount (offered until 03/14/23) over the bike’s eventual $19,500 MSRP. The EVE Odyssey will also later be offered in an all-electric version.
