How about a Monocycle? Photo taken in the 1930s.

By Diego Braghi: the first mono wheel was invented by Mr. M. Goventosa of Udine (Italy) who built his one wheel motorcycle in 1931, and it was capable to reach the top speed of 150 khp (93 mph). Unfortunately very few details are available about this vehicle. The the rider was sit inside the rotating single wheel driven by smaller wheels pressing against its inner rim and the rider was using a steering wheel to drive the monowheel to the right direction.

Goventosa improved his original monowheel by building another model in 1933

The monowheel was are hard to control, a bit unstable and not very maneuverable with poor visibility, but Goventosa model inspired other inventors to build monowheels more technologically advanced till our days

It’s funny how the original looks much better than the modern version.
