Remote Forest Temple - Northern Thailand

#วัดหลวงขุนวิน
Wat Luang Khun Win (I am not very happy with this edit, but I will remember some things for next time)

I took this ride out a few days ago and included many more sights. This temple is far from the usual tourist trail stands the 700-year-old Lanna temple, #WatLuangKhunWin, in Mae Win, Chiang Mai - Northern Thailand.

This temple lies so deep within the #MaeWang forest jungle that it has 𝐫𝐞𝐦𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐝 𝐥𝐚𝐫𝐠𝐞𝐥𝐲 𝐮𝐧𝐭𝐨𝐮𝐜𝐡𝐞𝐝, yet is in perfect condition, due to being lovingly cared for by the nuns that occupy the temple grounds.

The artwork is dramatic and impeccable, with the centre of attraction being the two teak #Buddha statues, carved from a single 20 meter teak tree trunk.

The grounds are peaceful and carefully tended to and solar panels collect energy to light the temple in the evening.

𝐖𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐢𝐭'𝐬 𝐟𝐚𝐢𝐫𝐲𝐭𝐚𝐥𝐞 𝐚𝐦𝐛𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐭𝐞𝐦𝐩𝐥𝐞 𝐧𝐞𝐞𝐝𝐬 𝐭𝐨 𝐛𝐞 𝐬𝐞𝐞𝐧 𝐭𝐨 𝐛𝐞 𝐛𝐞𝐥𝐢𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐝. Absolutely stunning.

Location of the #temple is here: https://goo.gl/maps/nSDVLawLW3HRJhXb8

The more direct route is via Mae Wang, however, 𝐢𝐟 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐰𝐚𝐧𝐭 𝐦𝐨𝐫𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐚 𝐫𝐢𝐝𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐚𝐝𝐯𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞, 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐧 𝐚 𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐯𝐢𝐨𝐮𝐬 𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐩 𝐫𝐞𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐭𝐞𝐦𝐩𝐥𝐞 𝐠𝐢𝐯𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐝𝐞𝐭𝐚𝐢𝐥𝐞𝐝 𝐢𝐧𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐮𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 𝐨𝐧 𝐡𝐨𝐰 𝐭𝐨 𝐠𝐞𝐭 𝐭𝐨 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐭𝐞𝐦𝐩𝐥𝐞 𝐯𝐢𝐚 𝐒𝐚𝐦𝐨𝐞𝐧𝐠, is here: https://motogirlthailand.com/samoeng-mae-win-off-road-plus-long-loop-back-chiang-mai/
