William ‘Wild Bill’ Johnson – The first African-American Harley-Davidson Dealer
William B. Johnson, was the first African American Harley-Davidson dealer, signing a sales agreement in 1928.
Johnson continued to operate the Dealership, assisted by his son, Nelson, until he was well past 80 years old.
In his later years, he slept in a small room, in the back of the shop, and he died peacefully 1985, at the age of 95, while he was sleeping in his shop....
After his death, Johnson's Harley-Davidson closed for good in 1988....
