Shifter trouble

Recently, I was on my way to work, when my shifter dropped to my foot peg, and stayed there…

I could still shift properly, if I hooked it right with my boot, and manually returned it to center between shifts… but it was completely limp.

Turned out, the spring that keeps it in place, finally gave out after 20+ years and 80k miles. lol.

$5 replacement, couple hours to tear down and reassemble, and back on the black top.

mcg182, Yep!! Was a pretty simple repair. Especially if one is accustomed to dealing with the clutch ramps and throw out on the primary side.

Couple snap rings, couple gaskets, and it’s all good. 🤘😎
