There were a lot of bikes at Whitchurch this morning.
It's a handy ride for me, 107 miles there and back. I live close to the M6Toll and I don't mind paying a few quid to get a fast, easy 17 miles start and end to the ride, avoiding the unpleasant traffic and hassle of the A5 locally. I join into the A5 at J12 M6 and it's not too bad, past Weston Park and then the last 24 miles on the A41, past Tern Hill. The Speed Twin 900 is a pleasure to ride and always betters 70mpg, even with motorway included. At the start, temperature was 4C, by the time I got back 9C. It's been dry overnight with no frost, so the roads were bone dry.
