Motordrome at Columbus, Ohio. c1910 Postcard

Motordrome at Columbus, Ohio. c1910 Postcard. Built with a 30 degree angled track. It was said to be the first motorcycle track built in the United States. The track was opened on July 4, 1912 and seated 5000 people, while 1400 automobiles could be parked in center field, or filled with 100,000 people. Patrons were conducted to the arena by means of tunnels. Racing also was held during the night because of the lighting system that was installed. The Columbus Motordome Company was insolvent by the very next year; 1913 and was closed soon after.
