First Impressions of the Scrambler Mach X-Ride 650 Trail

I'm not sure about the Mash brand in Russia, but considering it's a Chinese manufacturer, it might be available there. In Europe, Mash is one of the few manufacturers (dealers, sellers, distributors) of retro bikes, and they also produce sidecars.

Technically, it's a Honda XR400, but with a cylinder bored out to 650 cc. You can be as snobbish as you want about copying, but currently, Honda itself doesn't produce anything similar, and Mash has managed to create a beautiful combination of retro design with enduro characteristics.

The LCD dashboard is quite uninformative. However, within a few minutes, you start riding without looking at the dashboard at all, just like a real motocross rider. All the switchgear feels cheap, but first of all, it's a relatively inexpensive bike, and secondly, you won't feel bad about dropping it.

The manufacturer claims 39 horsepower, which is low for this engine size, but on the other hand, it's enough to feel confident on the highway, not to mention secondary roads and off-road (dirt roads). There are engine vibrations since it's a single-cylinder, but it's quite acceptable at the speeds allowed in Russia (110-130 km/h). The handlebar-footpeg arrangement allows for standing while riding.
It's stable in the city and on the highway.

It's hard to say if it's more of a scrambler or an enduro. Looking at the rear monoshock, it seems more like an enduro. But looking at the tank, exhaust, headlight, and front fender, it still looks like a scrambler. Overall, it's much more of a scrambler than the likes of Ducati, Triumph, and, God forgive me, BMW, which have "scrambler" in their names.

I confess, I've never ridden an enduro bike, but in my defense, I've never been attracted to this class of motorcycles. Whether to ride an enduro in the city is up to each individual. On the plus side, the high seating position allows you to see over car roofs. On the downside, you have to reach the ground with your feet at stops and traffic lights. I tried to slide off the seat in a motocross manner and reach with one foot, but no, my height of 180 cm is enough to simply put a foot on the ground. However, there might be issues with carrying a passenger due to the high center of gravity, but how often are modern motorcycles used for this unless they are touring bikes?

On the test drive section, which included broken asphalt and gravel, it performed very well. As the saying goes, "Ha, everyone will ride an enduro." And looking at the Mash, you realize that this is indeed true. The Chinese managed to create a truly beautiful motorcycle, tall but still easy to mount.
