Limey and Bill have been stuck out in Northern Territory for over a week now
Heavy rain has made it impossible to ride their trusty KLR650s out. They have no food, no dry clothes, sleeping bags and after last update, the have no matches that may burn down their camp.
Like all pretend fully prepared adventure bike riders, they carry a high quality tarp from the local cheap shop. They did not have any rope with them or tent pegs, so they found some straight dead trees and threaded the trees through the tarp to make a basic shelter, very clever they thought.
There, under the tarp they sat soaked, cold, hungry for days hoping for someone to come past in a 4x4 to help them (because no one could ride a bike out here), but only the best of the best of the best could even attempt this bush track in these conditions.
A big gust of wind came and blew the tarp away into the mud today, so Limey (who is an ideas man) decided to hang the tarp over the bikes like a hammock, so they can sit above the flood water. But as soon as they jumped on the tarp, the soft water soaked muddy ground gave way and the side stands sunk deep into the ground and then the bikes sunk deep into the mud.
Without much hope, without any luck, without much of anything really, Limey (a real ideas man) had an idea to ride the Buffalo that was hanging around looking at them with wonder... wondering what the bloody Emu are those strange animals doing!!! (all animals now stupid when they see stupid!)
With a a bit of a struggle, Limey and Bill managed to get on the wild Buffalo... AND just at that point, they heard a motorcycle coming closer and closer, and travelling very very fast... to their surprise (as they thought only they had the skills, only they were the best of the best of the best) to ride such a outback desert track) it was Toby Priceless.
Since Toby knows Team Limey (and knows first hand that they think the knows everything needed to know, to know how to get out of trouble) he did not stop as he past by at 160kph while doing a wheelie.
Anyway, after another 2 weeks riding the Buffalo going round and round in circles, eating bugs off the Buffalos rear end and nose to stay alive, they came to a busy main highway and fuel station... which just so happened to be (as the crow fly's straight) about 800m away from where they were over a sand dune....!!!
They are both as we speak out trying to retrieve their bikes... but we all know how hard sun baked clay is... we wish them good luck
Until next time... Be prepared and be safe just like Team Limey :)
