Yamaha YZF R6 - Raven

What I love about my YZF R6 is how raw and analog it feels. No massive screens or electronic aids stepping in to save you—just a pure, mechanical connection. Without software holding your hand, it actually forces you to become a better, more precise rider.

Plus, the design is timeless. Even being over a decade old, it still looks better than most brand-new sportbikes. I still look back at it every time I walk away.

Owner Review
I’ve had my 2012 R6 for a few years now. If you are wondering if you should buy one, it completely depends on where you plan to ride it. If you want a daily commuter or a bike for cruising around the city, look somewhere else—maybe a CBR600RR or a GSX-R. The biggest thing nobody warns you about is how dead the engine feels below 10,000 RPM. There is absolutely zero low-end torque, which makes stop-and-go traffic miserable. The ergonomics are also the most aggressive in the 600cc class. The seat is high, the clip-ons are extremely low, and your back and wrists will be screaming after an hour on the highway. However, if you are buying this for track days or aggressive canyon riding, it is a masterpiece. Once you get the revs above 12k, it screams like a banshee and pulls incredibly hard. The chassis is legendary—it handles like it's hardwired to your brain and tips into corners effortlessly. It’s also incredibly reliable. Unlike European bikes, parts are cheap and everywhere, though you should keep an eye on the regulator/rectifier, which is a known weak point on older Yamahas. Bottom line: It’s a terrible street bike but an absolute weapon on the track. Buy it for the right reasons.
