Did a 206 km loop out of Forde today over Gaularfjellet, and it honestly beats Trollstigen simply because you get the whole pass to yourself without getting stuck behind tour buses. We went from the turf-roofed cabins at Sunnfjord Museum and the misty steel bridge over Likholefossen right up to the 700-meter Utsikten viewpoint, then dropped down 9 tight switchbacks past the tiny 1864 Andrinastova cabin to the fjord. Finished the run along the water through Balestrand and the WWII cliff bunkers at Klævold before taking E39 back - easily one of the best days on the bike in Western Norway.
