Yamaha RD 400 - Daytona Special

Heavily modified motor and suspension. RZ350 dual disc frontend with rebuilt internals, rebuilt calipers, master cylinder and custom made stainless brake lines by JDM, Renthal red anodized bars, Red grips, Stock gauges and turn signals as I want to maintain the stock look of the bike. Original paint in fair condition. It’s only original once is why I’ll leave it for the next owner to paint. The motor I built to my dream build of the one I had at 17 but couldn’t afford the parts. I am running Vintage performance race heads with combustion chambers cut to match everything else I did to the motor that allows it to run on pump premium gas while still giving it plenty of power. I can’t say for sure what is doing what I just know the entire motor is as quick of an RD as I’ve ever rode or seen. I’m running proX cast pistons 64.50mm. The cylinders are a stage 2 ported by Garrett Amner with the intakes opened up to fit Mototassinarri YZ85 VForce reeds. I’m running 28mm Technology Elevated SC-2 smart carbs with 6”Uni’s The gearbox only had 2,332 miles on it when I took the motor apart. I’m running the Vape ignition and high output coil and that does it for the motor. I run a 520 set up with a gold chain. I changed the gearing from a 15/37 to a 17I had to change it to the 17 because the front wheel wouldn’t stay on the street. The rear shocks are ebay. Also are red anodized MX foot pegs that give me great grip when I’m riding. I’ve done all the work myself.

Fully built to stage 2 spec, port matched cases, vintage performance race heads, YZ 85 V-Force reeds, Technology Elevated SC-2 Smart carbs, 6” Uni foam filters, 1a1. Crank with upgraded bearings, oil journals opened up for better lubrication, cast pistons and everything balanced.Vape electronic ignition with high output coils and the battery delete when it goes on the track. I’m running stainless JL’s, their performance pipes. I think that’s it for the motor. I downsized the chain and went from the stock 530 to the RZ 520 with custom made rear sprocket. Nitrogen reservoir shocks in the rear and a RZ 350 dual disc frontend and an eBay steering stabilizer with lighter RZ mags. Although I have not worked out the rear mag yet. Renthal red anodized bars with RZ mastercylinder and custom made stainless brake lines. Wave rotors round out the front giving it plenty of stopping power. It’s not a good idea to make it as quick as I have and leave the stock brakes. That is a sure fire way to end up pasted against something and in my old age I try to miss stuff like that as much as possible. The bike is so much more than stock I had to change the gearing from a 15/37 to a 17/37 because if you rolled just a little to much gas taking off it was trying to go over backwards on me. Once I put the 17/37 it calmed it way down and I’m no longer tacking at 6,000rpm’s at 65mph. At 6k now I’m doing 80 plus mph. To round off the mods I’m running motopro red anodized MX pegs
