Four days on the South Island in New Zealand. Part four
The morning pleased me with the clear sky and not very strong fog
The ferry from Picton traveled to Wellington only at 7pm, so I had a whole day ahead for hiking and relaxation. I decided to spend it in the National Park "Nelson Lakes", the capital of which is the village of San Arnod, famous for being located exactly on the border of two tectonic plates, as shown in the picture below
In the park, as the name implies, there are many lakes and rivers
This time I decided to go to the DoC office to advise me on interesting routes. So I was on the observation deck at Mount Robert. I did not have time to climb the summit - this route takes about 5 hours
Mount Robert, I'll be back!
I would like to stay here, ride a kayak, plunge into the purest water ...
It’s like Finland
Finally I went to the local church, with amazing views opening from the altar
And here I am again in Picton, which resembles a small resort town in Europe or even in Crimea
Palms, quay, yachts, hotels ...
Arch in honor of the heroes of war
This time, the motorcycle company was diluted by one moped, whose owner intended to get Oakland on it
We swam away already in deep darkness, practically simultaneously with the ferry of the competing company
Along the way, nothing remarkable happened, and the ferries themselves are much more boring than those that run between Helsinki and Tallinn, although they go even longer: almost 4 hours
The trip was over. And here is the map of the route, indicating the main points. However, in New Zealand, when the roads are closed due to floods, earthquakes and landslides, they are opened again, the maps do not matter much.
