Adventures of YB125 in Chile, part 2

Let's continue talking about Chile)
The huge dune on which stands a good third of the city is gradually trying to regain its own. At many crossroads small mini-bangchants settle, swallowing pieces of streets and roads.

Crashed cars along the Chilean Panamericana - the most effective call for vigilance. Even the cross-forest does not make such an impression as an abandoned broken car: (we have stopped counting them, very much.) Probably most of the accidents happen from the fact that the drivers tend to sleep. The blinding sun, lack of turns, high average speed, good coverage and desert…

The sharply continental climate and dry air are the first strongest impressions of the desert. In the afternoon the brain melts from the heat, and in the evening I want to wear a jacket. Add more scorching (literally stinging) sun and wind blowing a tear, even if you're wearing a helmet. All this is like a different planet. From the heat images close to the horizon are so distorted that it seems that formless piles of metal are coming towards ... Then these piles "straighten out" as they approach and turn into normal machines.

In Chile, an uncountable number of geoglyphs. And you can not say that they are less interesting than in Nasca (Peru). It's strange that before we entered the country we never had to learn about this :))) All the geoglyphs that were met were free of charge and indicated by signs. The variety of shapes is impressive! :) these were cleared in 1987 last time:

Still you can find little-known, but very interesting, unusual and beautiful petroglyphs on the ocean:

Some other interesting facts)
Chileans like cocktails, mostly weak, and come up with funny names. Well, the name "fanchop" for both of us seems ridiculous. The cocktail is simple: beer and Fanta, well, lemon-on request - a purely Chilean way to cool down on a hot day.

Our relationship with the chirimoya has not developed for a long time. In Mexico, we still could not wait for it to ripen and come across hard, tasteless fruit. In Peru, it came across to us solely overripe and sugaryly waving - and we did not dare to eat it. And here in Chile - the perfect condition! :) Tasty, very sweet and hearty. And something remotely reminiscent of cheesepup (he is also guanabana). In general, we take into account!

Chile is clearly not the country in which it will be easy to find exotic fruits. Cherry! Juicy sweet cherry !!! Apricots, pears, apples ...

Whatever the city, then, of course, the port. Chile ... There is also a port in the small Tokopil'e. And the streets are crowned by dry cargo ships, waiting for a queue for unloading coal. Coal is used to generate electricity and is imported from various parts of the world. Well, and the port is used by fishermen and sea lions.

At this point, we end the introductory part of the tour of Chile. And in the next part, expect a story about the incredible beauty of the Atacama Desert, the streets of Valparaiso, the search for tires in Santiago and many travel notes.
