Adventures of YB125 in Brazil. Part 7

Summer is a hot season, leading to special stresses on the water supply system. Therefore, turning off the water in the city, without warning for an indefinite period, is not uncommon. Actually, the system with domestic reserve tanks is popular all over Brazil, and local residents are usually ready to turn off the water for a short time.

It turned out that the favelas are often not called favelas, but communigas (communities).

The beaches of Rio are some kind of special environment. Thin bands of sand, on which all mix. All equally naked, without statuses and regalia))) Someone came down from the favela, someone from the 18th floor of his elite edificio. You can't understand on Copacabana or Hyponeam like this, at first glance - who it is in front of you, where from :) Probably, in conditions of acute social stratification, this is the most romantic place in which all these boundaries are erased.

Departing from the Rio de Janeiro state to the Minas Gerais state, we, without knowing it, entered the historic route called Estrada Real, which is a combination of imperial paths through a galaxy of colonial towns. Simply, the places from which Brazil itself began (such as we know it). Brazil, of course, is amazing, it always has something to surprise with.

In Tiradenes, in addition to surprisingly well-preserved colonial species, one can admire ruthless Brazilian tourism :) Here, as nowhere it becomes clear - Brazilian vacation is expensive.
On the other hand, there is something in this. Similar colonial towns on hills in warm climates are usually attracted by crowds of enlightened Euro-Americans, expats and backpackers, they are usually not burdened with return tickets and very easily and quickly decide to live in a pleasant place, which usually leads to the fact that all such places become similar one on the other. Here, somehow the European view bypasses this royal hinterland, and therefore it can be seen almost unharnessed by the hippar globalization that affects all of Latin America.

Stay with us! Then we continue the way along the Estrada Real!
