Adventures of YB125 in Brazil. Part 8
By tradition, today there will be many stories and photos. Lets' go!
In Brazil, there are such giant anthills, i.e. termites:
Ouro Preto is famous as an open-air museum, as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, but not a single word is able to describe all its charm. Ouro Preto is big enough, there are more than 70 thousand inhabitants living here, but it's not that big if you look at its life on cozy streets and steps that cover the green mountains. By the way, in Brazil, as in Mexico, the production of beetles raged, so that since that time they have crawled and creep up to now practically throughout the country.
Turned inside out (shutters inside, glass outside) windows - one of the most recognizable signs of Portuguese colonial architecture. It is said that in the time of the first Portuguese settlements, the glazed windows were a sign of prosperity and wealth of the house, so it was not worth it to hide such beauty behind the shutters. Tradition quickly and firmly entrenched itself as the Brazilian and the windows were done in the same style all the imperial history.
I can not just take and drive 300 km along the asphalt! The Minas Gerais state gave us many. The further to the north, the more mango is spilled on the heavily hung fruit trees. So hotter, stuffy. The head is heavy with hot air, the movements are slow (it is better not to stir at all).
Fica a vontade - the most often heard by us phrase for the last month. "Be free" or in a semantic translation into Russian "feel at home" (and even without "but do not forget that you are visiting") the farther north, the more sincere and more often it is pronounced, but if we talk about comfort, then everything is exactly the opposite, and only prices remain the same. However, the current-showering, the ant trail diagonally across the bed, the sewn bed linen left over from colonial times, the plaster falling off, the houses with windows that are not glazed - it's all so exotic! It's like a new country has begun.
In the end, how much do you need for happiness when cashews grow under the window? So we will feel like at home, this we learned best in 4 years!
To be continued....)
