Motorcycle racing outfit Tsingtao Racing has revealed an eye-catching new sponsor for its bikes this season.
Published on the team's official Twitter page, the team now counts Canadian website PornHub as one of its major sponsors for its 2018 British Supersport campaign.
As the name might suggest, PornHub, based in Montreal, is a leading provider of adult media. It's part of a network of similarly themed online companies owned by the Luxembourg-based MindGeek company.
The PornHub logo appears prominently on the side of the team's MV Agusta F3 motorcycles. However it seems to be absent from the leathers of the team's riders, Joe Francis and the appropriately named Harry Truelove. Nor, despite the size, is it the team's title sponsor, as it will continue to compete as Tsingtao Racing.
The adult site has appeared as a sponsor for a number of teams in different sports recently. A university football team in Kent, the Rutherford Raiders, briefly wore shirts with the PornHub logo before the university stepped in and banned them. It also sponsored a basketball team in Ireland and a women's roller hockey team in Perth, Australia.
On a more altruistic note, PornHub was a vocal opponent to the US Federal Communications Commission's net neutrality plans and announced plans to sponsor snowploughs to help clear the streets in some US cities last winter.
It's not the first adult media site to get involved in motorsport. Dutch video site "Live Strip" has previously backed a young driver in FIA Formula Two, and also leant its name to a racing team that competed in the Nurburgring 24 hour race.
