RACING, to MV Agusta, is as natural as breathing is to us mere mortals.
And the Italian manufacturer believe that the production of race bikes is fundamental for improving factory production bikes.
And so, for 2019, MV has revealed an updated ‘RC’ range, direct from its 'Reparto Corse' (Racing Department).
This range includes the naked Brutale and Dragster models, the Turismo Veloce, the F3 675 and F3 800 supersport bikes, and finally, the F4. It comes following MV’s extensive technical updates in 2018, particularly on the three-cylinder bikes.
Here are the technical highlights of each model:
F4 RC
For 2019, the F4 RC boasts an entirely new colour scheme, with a large black central area and exposed carbon fibre on the fairing. The wheels, fuel tank and tail fairing are red, with white and green details.
The F4 RC boasts a dedicated racing kit, which includes an ECU with specific mapping and a titanium SC-Project single exit exhaust. These performance-enhancing components allow the maximum power of the short-stroke four-cylinder engine to be increased (bore 79 mm - stroke 50.9 mm) with central timing chain and radial valve configuration from 205 hp to 212 hp.
Öhlins fork and shock absorber feature combine with advanced engine and vehicle management software to make the F4 RC bike the closest bike to the MV Agusta which raced in WSBK.
F3 675 RC and F3 800 RC
These models share a livery and a dedicated race kit, which includes a titanium SC-Project exhaust. A dedicated ECU features in the kit along with the CNC machined brake and clutch levers in ergal, a sprocket to achieve maximum acceleration, a rear wheel stand and a bike cover.
Dragster 800 RC
The 160 kg, 150 hp Dragster 800 RC features highly effective chassis architecture, and an accessories package put together by the racing department. This package features nine-spoke design in lightweight forged alloy, while the technical sponsor logos decorate the fairing of the Dragster 800, along with the number 37 - the number of world titles won by MV Agusta.
Brutale 800 RC
The Brutale 800 RC features a host of carbon fibre components including the front and rear fenders, fuel tank side panels and the instrument cluster cover. Red forged alloy wheels complement the RC racing colour scheme and technical sponsor logos complete the look.
Turismo Veloce RC
The 2019 Turismo Veloce RC features ‘Smart Clutch System’ technology, which is MV Agusta’s solution for fully automatic clutch management. Riders can choose to either operate the clutch manually using the clutch lever, or leave operation entirely up to the system.
