Headed by the newly redesigned Yamaha YZ450F, Yamaha has today lifted the lid on its entire 2020 MX range, which also features the return of the YZ250F, and a range of two stroke models, including the YZ250, YZ125, YZ85 and YZ65.
The new YZ450F features a lighter and more compact engine, a redesigned frame with new flex characteristics, and a host of other features to deliver a lighter, more powerful and better handling experience.
The new 449cc liquid cooled four stroke engine features a new compact and lighter cylinder head with redesigned combustion chamber shape, steeper valve angles and more aggressive cam profiles.
The new motor is housed in Yamaha’s latest lightweight aluminum bilateral frame, which has been redesigned with new flex characteristics and improves cornering performance, traction and bump reaction.
A newly designed front brake caliper, brake pads and front and rear discs are featured on the 2020 YZ450F, and give the bike extra stopping power, with the entire bike geared to mimic the lightweight handling characteristics of the YZ250F.
Yamaha haven’t stopped there though, adding a full launch control system that gives the rider the ability to adjust their on-track performance using a smartphone, and the power tuner app; offering two user defined ECU maps, available on the fly.
The 2020 Yamaha YZ450F is available in Team Yamaha blue and white, or grey, with pricing to be announced soon. Joining it on the MX showroom floor is the 2020 YZ250F, which scored a new engine, frame and bodywork in 2019.
As highlighted already, the Japanese bike brand is also set to launch new versions of its complete two stroke range, including the YZ250, YZ125, YZ85 and YZ65. All will be available in Team Yamaha blue and white. Prices for these will be available soon.
