The MotoGP Court of Appeals ruled in favour of Ducati and announced that the device, mounted on Andrea Dovizioso, Danilo Petrucci and Jack Miller motorcycles at the Qatar Grand Prix complies with the rules.

The victory of Andrea Dovizioso is no longer discussed, and Ducati can use the aerodynamic device during other races.

At the Qatar Grand Prix, the Italian rider was faster than Marc Marquez by just 0.023 seconds. After the race, four manufacturers - Aprilia, KTM, Honda and Suzuki - protested against Ducati’s aerodynamic swingarm device, mounted in front of the rear wheel. The Stewards Panel present at the venue rejected the protest with the four manufacturers, so they then appealed to the MotoGP Court of Appeal.

The Ducati team was in shock, as such issues were resolved at the level of producers before.

The Court of Appeal assumed that they found the device cools the rear tire instead of providing extra aerodynamic downforce.

The matter is almost closed, but the protesters can go on and within five days apply to the Sports Arbitral Court. Let’s just hope for the best.

The next MotoGP races will be held on 29-31 March in Argentina.
