Handmade cases of canisters.

At some moment I realized that a little backpack isn’t enough, I thought about the side bags. I measured a large number of textile and leather cases, but everything was not that I wanted to. And the side bracket for the registration number had to be removed completely. Once I saw that my friend put 20 liters canisters on both sides on his bike. I really liked his idea. I decided to try it too. Started to look for a suitable shape and size. I went through many metal, aluminum, even plastic ones. It turned out not an easy idea. The choice is huge, but they are all narrow or too wide. Accidentally going to the building store I noticed canisters for motor boats and decided to try on. And the work started.

I found some kind of sealant in the garage. It ideally concealed sharp cuts. Later, I’ll buy the right one necessarily.

There was much more work with a canister. It was too showing. So I decided to reduce it by 3 cm along the stiffener edge.

Having decided on the size of the canisters, I gave it to the welders to be carefully welded with an even unseen seam. Several times I explained how and where it was necessary to weld. In the end, everything was completely spoiled. Not only that they welded everything ugly, so also the cover was welded back.
After the capping, they also took on water to check for leaks. It's a pity, but it can not be fixed. The canister is in the garbage. :(

Just in case I took rivets of different sizes.
Joint abundantly smeared with silicone or sealant. Then we drill it and rivet.

Not yet the final result. We start looking for the necessary hinges and accessories.

Canopy fittings. Rubber seal is bought in the car market. Seal of the hood or door, just did not figure out.

By the way, the rubber seal gives a thickness of 4 mm. Under the loop put a gasket in the thickness of the rubber.

I did not like the handle. For symmetry I decided to put one from a spoiled earlier canister.

Inside, I put a cable-limiter in order not to empty the case.

I had to do special bracket –cube from the rod of 10mm.

That's the result. I wanted to paint it to match the color of the bike, but everyone dissuades me.
