The brown blackstriped wire

After owning about 9 bikes i now own a Yamaha TDM900.
This beast has 2 cilinders firing at 270 degrees.
So the problem it has is low revs...they just dont like it.
But..there is a solution for the TDM900.
Because of emission demands yamaha decided to restrict airflow beneeth 4000rpm.
By disconecting this system we wil have a bike that wil run smooth at low revs and the so called on. of experience on the trottle wil be gone.
Yamaha mounted a system that operates a flap inside the airbox and is controled by the computer of the engine.
So..after some google help i found the folowing ...disconect the brown/ black striped wire from the computer thats behind the left front wing.
As u see in the picture its the 8th position we need to disconnect.
By pressing the white bits on the connector u wil be able to unlock the wires and remove the wire without cutting, after removing the wire turn the connector and pres the wite bits. so it will lock all the wires again. put the connector back in the computer.
Rebuild the bike parts.
Now check the settings for the CO by pressing the buttons on the dash both, turn on the key til 2nd position. hold the buttons til u see co. then u can set the co to 21 on both cylinders seperatly. turn the key of..to safe the settings. now start the bike and enjoy.
Its easy..if ur not sure. google is ur frind, many TDM owners have done this.

ps.its clear that all this is on ur own risk.

Hi Carlos, I followed your excellent guide thanks but on my TDM900 model(a 2010 UK plate) it was a Brown and green striped wire, not Brown and black as per your description.
I just looked at your ECU diagram which was easy thank you and I got the right one out.
I was also a little confused with your white connector description until I realised you meant the ECU, not the other larger white connectors further around. A little niggle but I thought it needed mentioning for a newbie like me!
