"Give my best to all the family. Letters are my only thing to live for now, so write often."

During WW I, the importance of receiving mail could not be over stated. For American fighting forces, receiving mail was vital for morale. Some considered the delivery of mail to our fighting forces was just as important as delivering rations and ammunition.
The motorcycle played a key role in delivering the mail to the troops.
Thanks to men like Battalion Mail Corporal Virgil McNeal (driver) and Vernon C. Coffey (sidecar) for ensuring this vital service was performed.
