"Call Signs"

People in my line of work usually have a nickname or call sign to go by when on the job. Some of us carry that into our off-duty lives. I'm one of those. They called me 'Cide Rider for a long time. The call sign fit me well until I had a bad day I almost couldn't come back from. The messed up part is that happened at a time when I was trying play by the rules and do things "the right way."

I finally made my comeback, now under a different call sign. The flaming phoenix on the back of my favorite jacket kind of screams that new nickname for all the world to see (or at least points people in the right direction of what that name might be). Now I just need to get the sticker made for my bike.

Having " 'Cide Rider" on my swingarm still looks pretty cool though, especially with the motorcycle handlebars rising out of the radioactive symbol above the crossed spark plugs, and there are still some drivers who only know me by that name. So I never had the heart to remove the stickers. I guess I never will.
